About Brookdale
Brookdale was built as a guesthouse around 1870 and has been home to at least five generations of our family in that time. These days we maintain the tradition of welcoming visitors by offering Brookdale as a holiday home. Although considerably modernised over the years (yes we do have electric light and running water!) we try to maintain Brookdale as a house of character that retains much of its original Victorian and Edwardian feel.
The house is situated in the heart of the village of Lee, and less than five minutes walk of the bay, woods and fields that make this village and the valley so special.
The three floors of accommodation comprise four double bedrooms, bath room, shower room, two toilets, kitchen, dining room and sitting rooms. To the side and rear of the house is a garden with lawn and a patio area with chairs, table and a barbecue.
Facilities include electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble drier. TV, video, telephone, etc. There are also a selection of games and books to choose from.
Brookdale is close to the lane that runs through the village and unloading luggage and children is no problem. However, we do ask you not to leave the car unattended outside the house as you may block the lane. (We provide neighbour friendly parking space close by).
We are happy for visitors to bring dogs (so long as they don't stray and attack the neighbour's cats or dig up the garden!) but we do ask guests to respect the No Smoking policy while inside the house.
