The garden...
Just about every generation of the family living in Brookdale have included enthusiastic gardeners. Many of the plants have long histories, although there has been quite a bit of new planting in recent years. We are grateful to our neighbours who keep things in order and good condition while we are away and our efforts are confined to work at the start and end of the holiday season.
...and outdoor eating area.
The path leads from the back door, under a pergola to the outdoor eating area. Here we have table and chairs, where you can sit and relax of a summer evening. There is even a portable barbecue you may use if you fancy a bit of outdoor cooking. Enjoy the rest of the garden with the lawn, pergola and lush borders and sit back, forget the rest of the world and listen to the birds and the gentle sound of the stream that runs along the bottom of the garden. (Safely behind a hedge, out of the reach of children!)
There are also some outhouses where you may store any holiday essentials such as surf boards, boats, etc. that you may have with you.
